My experiences with Tarrin date back a few years as I met her when she was still apprenticing to the midwife I chose for my fourth pregnancy (3+ years ago). I got to see and experience her development as she became the midwife she is today. She attended that birth and was an extraordinary person to get to have there. I knew she was someone to draw strength and comfort from. She finished her apprenticeship before the birth of my next baby 20 months ago and was already her own 'midwife' but, still she graciously came to my birth as an assistant per my request and again it was apparent that I 'needed' her there as my body waited to push out my lovely little boy until I knew she was there. Having someone you feel is strong, capable and loving really facilitates a great birth experience and Tarrin covers all those qualities and then some! She was key to the wonderful and beautiful experiences that I had and I'm extremely happy to know that she will be attending me when my time comes with this last baby in just a couple more months! I couldn't be happier with her wonderful prenatal care. Appointments are always thorough and conveniently scheduled. Her professionalism combined with her experience and loving attitude makes for a complete package and I'm very excited and proud to be a supporter of her and her growing, thriving business.

Tarrin was a calm, but strong presence. She has a wonderful way of being unobtrusive when you are in the thick of labor and she needs to listen to baby's heart.

This is so challenging to write. Maybe if I had a few hours of your time over a cup of coffee, I would then be able to adequately tell you how much I LOVE Tarrin and how grateful we are to her. Tarrin is an INCREDIBLE woman. I don’t know what we would have done without her. After feeling bullied by our obstetrician and becoming very afraid of the hospital “policies” that seemed foreign to our ideas about birth, we decided to have a homebirth. We were blessed to find Tarrin. She became our midwife at 18 weeks and gave us the best prenatal care until our son was born at 43 weeks, 5 days. Tarrin took the time to know us. She was genuinely interested in our lives as a whole, not just the parts related to my tummy. And she was just so RELAXED. I felt like nothing I said could faze her. She was great about answering our questions and giving us choices. After our OB experience it was great to be told what could happen at our next appointment. She gave us information about possible tests, and then we had time to think it over together and do any additional research before making a decision. She gave us both sides and allowed us to make informed choices. Tarrin helped me remain calm and confident throughout my pregnancy, especially after that silly due date was all but a distant memory. And, just like she said, everything was fine. Nature ran its course and our 10lbs, 5oz baby boy was born! It was so exciting to share that time with Tarrin and our other midwives after the months we’d spent together waiting for this moment! Then, talk about postpartum care! WOW! These ladies took such good care of me. Not just that day, but over the next three months. I joke with my husband that we need to get pregnant again right away just so that we’ll get to see Tarrin all the time again. Even now, almost five months after my AMAZING homebirth, I still text her questions I have, or even just pictures or updates of my baby. I honestly just can’t say it enough how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tarrin. I recommend her to everyone I know. I’m a stay at home mom, but if I ever have need or want to work, I think I want to be Tarrin when I grow up.

I have been incredibly fortunate to get to know Tarrin as a midwifery peer, client, midwife, and friend. Her clinical intelligence, intuitive nature, calm presence, strong hands (got to love the double hip squeezes!), and sense of humor are just a few of her greatest assets. Her attendance at my daughter’s birth is something that has been forever burned in my memory. Her quiet, gentle support was exactly what I needed. She was also great at reassuring my husband that everything was going well (despite the many hours of transition and pushing). I plan on flying her out to Pittsburgh for my future babies!
